While my actual planned retirement is not for a couple of years from now, I seem to be experiencing a bit of pre-retirement anxiety. Downsizing and living a more minimalistic lifestyle has certainly played a part in the peace and joy I currently experience living in our new RV home, however, I sometimes find myself thinking about the "what-ifs".
A recent change in our pre-retirement plan brought on a bit of anxiety when our expected exit from our brick & mortar business failed and required us to become more involved in the day-to-day running of the operations rather than less involved. Our "plan" to put others in place to support the day-to-day management just didn't work. My anxiety comes from the fact that I had "my" wants, expectations, and requirements all working well from our RV home. We are now anxiously revamping our exit plan and what the years leading up to my retirement might end up becoming looking like after all.
In researching the idea of Pre-Retirement Anxiety, I found this article and if you are, like me,experiencing a bit of anxiety, I think you might enjoy the suggestions they share. I'm taking away a few good nuggets to help me through our current transition, and putting a few more away to review as our actual retirement gets closer.
